Coronavirus - Important Information

We don't know whether the coronavirus situation will impact on children and young people's mental health, but we think that it may.

We want to do all we can to prevent this from happening, or to minimise it. That's why we are offering  help and guidance to all those who are supporting children and young people - including to young people themselves.

We would like to reassure you that CATS continues to accept referrals. The health and safety of our associates, clients and community is our utmost priority and therefore we will be conducting initial appointments via phone or video link. As soon as the current social distancing measures are relaxed, we will return to face to face appointments.

Introducing CATS

Community Assessment and Therapy Services (CATS) are a Norwich based Community Interest Company.

CATS has been established with the aim of providing benefit to children, and young people who are vulnerable by virtue of their social, emotional and developmental needs. CATS will also benefit parents, carers and organisations who love, care and support these children.

CATS provide specialist assessments, reports and psychotherapeutic interventions for the Courts and all agencies involved with child and family welfare.

We also offer assessment for children with complex physical, neurodevelopmental and behavioural needs. We have particular experience and expertise in the diagnosis and management of children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

We work with families, including foster carers and adoptive parents to address issues of attachment and resulting emotional difficulties.

We believe the early experiences of children can have a psychological, neurological and physiological impact on development and that these are often interrelated. We have a broad range of experience of working with children and young people with the greatest need, and believe that the most complex problems often require a multi-disciplinary assessment. CATS specialises in the assessment of children and families where more than one expert is required. We are able to provide medical, psychological and psychotherapeutic assessments and therapy as necessary.
